How Shopify Theme Detector handles submitted storefront URLs, public detection results, and basic site data.
Submitted URLs
When you submit a storefront URL, the detector sends that URL to the detection API so it can fetch publicly available storefront data and return a report. Do not submit private, password-protected, or confidential URLs that you are not authorized to inspect.
Public storefront data
The report is based on information visible from the public storefront, such as page HTML, public script references, public Shopify endpoints, theme names, asset paths, and visible app signatures. The service does not access Shopify admin accounts or private store settings.
Analytics and diagnostics
The site may process basic technical request data needed to serve pages, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and understand product usage. Analytics tools are only active when configured for this project.
